The Woodlawn Collaborative aims to create a shared space for arts, education and community empowerment in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. These activities, undertaken as joint ventures between Woodlawn residents and University of Chicago students and staff, will make possible a more critical engagement with the issues that affect participants' lives, and give them the tools to effect meaningful progressive change. In this way, we will serve as the incubator for a new generation of Chicago-based artists, activists and social thinkers.
